Created after the Iranian Revolution, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) is charged with protecting the Islamic republic. “It is also an industrial empire with political clout.”
It’s influence stretches from military to economic, controlling the likes of 100 companies in Iran.

With 250,000 military personnel, the IRGC covers five branches: Basij (internal and morality police), the elite Quds Force, and coverage for air, sea, and ground.
